Discontinuous distillation with small copper steam boilers. Berta is one of the only distilleries that prior to finishing the grappa, they lower the temperature of the spirit to -16 degrees celsius to solidify and remove all of the bitter oils. Ageing takes place in oak barrels for a period of 8 years. Oak is medium toasted.
