Aroma: Aromas of peach, hazelnut and spiced candied apple breeze around the brim.
Taste: Round, creamy notes of fig, butterscotch and sweet oak dance on the palate.
Cellaring Potential: 5-7 yrs.
Food Matching: This Chardonnay is paired nicely with wild rice, toasted nuts and dried currants or crab cakes and risotto with spring vegetables.
Vinification: The year started off with record rainfall leading to early, robust growth on the vines. Then summer started off average but quickly changed to one of the hottest summers on record! The vines and grapes were tested, but with modern farming techniques, the vines were aided and protected. In the end, due to ample water and sunlight, 2017 will produce another excellent vintage.
Aging: The wine was later aged on French oak for a period of 8-12 months.
