Description

Our Flagship Cabernet Sauvignon speaks highly to the power and intensity of the 2014 vintage from the steep hillside and rocky terraces of the Husic Vineyards estate. This is one for the ages, and carries on beautifully the string of great vintages we have had since 2012 in Napa Valley. This has all of the power and density of the 2013, with perhaps more aromatic verve and a slightly more exotic personality.

Color

Nearly black in color, with a ruby/purple edge.

Grape Varieties

Grape %
Cabernet Sauvignon 100

Aroma

Deep blackberry, black cherry, dark chocolate ganache, creosote, roasted herbs, grilled bread, and anise find themselves surrounded in harmony with 100% new French Oak notes from the finest coopers.

Taste

Undeniably powerful and robust, with huge extract and depth of flavor, leading to a finish with knockout flavor and integration of hillside tannin. The finish lasts and lasts, a sign of an illustrious future.

Cellaring Potential

6-9 yrs.

Food Matching

This wine pairs well with big dishes, i.e. steak, lamb, and braised meats.

Vinification

The grapes were carefully transferred to a fermentation tank without the use of pumps, and were fermented on the skins for more than 30 days.

Aging

The inky-black wine was then transferred by gravity to new French Oak barrels and aged for nearly two years in caves held at 58° F. The best barrels were chosen for the final blend, and the wine was bottled without fining and with minimal filtration for clarity. The finished wine is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, 100% Estate-grown, and aged in 100% new French oak barrels. 1,255 cases were produced.
