Description

Chateau German Marbuzet is a great wine a combination of the exceptional Saint-Estephe terroir and the renowned expertise of Hubert de Bouard. The estate was created in 1982 by the grandfather of Didier Marcelis who made the decision to return to his roots and take over management of the family estate. He invested heavily in improving quality; replanting certain plots, replacing the stock of barrels and investing in modern winery equipment.  The riches of Chateau German Marbuzet are also the fruit of the patient, meticulous work of its owner: on these 2.45 hectares of vines, he applies micro-vinification techniques, working with the greates care and attention.

Aroma

An expressive, elegant bouquet offering charming, noble wood notes. The aromas of toast and smoke transcend the cassis and black cherry notes.

Taste

Ample, solid and fleshy on the palate, evoking ripe summer fruits, roasted coffee and smoke with great finesse. A very long-lasting finish with a toasted hint.

Vinification

Harvest: Grapes picked by hand. Transported to the winery in hoppers with an inert atmosphere. Sorted by hand on a vibrating table. Winemaking: Traditional Bordeaux method. Inert vat atmosphere with carbon dioxide snow during cold maceration. Plot-by-plot vinification. Pumped over daily at the start of fermentation. Malolactic transformation partly in vats, partly in barrels. Racking for some vintages.

Aging

Matured in French oak barrels (1/3 new) for 16 months. Matured on the fine lees with regular stirring.
